Pickerington Local Schools Board of Education Special Meeting for July 3, 2026

Statement from Board President Cathy Olshefski

"Last evening, the Pickerington Local Schools Board of Education unanimously approved a resolution to place a 10-year, 0.75% traditional income tax levy on the November 3, 2026 ballot.

This action provides our community with the opportunity to decide how to address the District's long-term financial needs. The Board did not take this decision lightly. Over the past several months, we have carefully reviewed the District's financial outlook, listened to community feedback, and made difficult budget reductions for the 2026-2027 school year to help address projected financial challenges.

Those reductions reflect the difficult decisions required to manage the District's finances responsibly while continuing to serve a growing student population and support the staff needed to provide a high-quality education.

We appreciate the thoughtful engagement we have received throughout this process and remain committed to providing our community with clear, factual information about the District's financial outlook. We encourage residents to review the information the District provides and stay informed as they prepare to cast their vote on November 3."
